Recreating texts - old meets new in popular culture
(Glee 2010, 'Sue Sylvester does Vogue', online video, retrieved 7 June http://www.blogger.com/post-edit.g?blogID=7796663695726679629&postID=25572468015946149092010 from, http://vimeo.com/10936628)
Another example of postmodern techniques. Taking an old text and recreating it. Although the Glee version is almost identical to the original Madonna video, using the same black and white images, it is interesting that just with the use of familiar characters and change of context the video changes tone and becomes a lot more funny. This is the purpose of these postmodern techniques to play fun at texts and blur notions of reality. Although Glee is a fictional television series there are constant references to pop culture figures and phenomena.
